Although the Camellias (pink sasanqua pictured, this is the one I am trying to contort into a ball-on-a-stick type of topiary) and the roses are doing OK in May......
the Orange Chinese Lantern bush is doing really well, considering the chilly mornings.....
better even than the Red Chinese Lantern out the front and a thousand times better than the poor old yellow Chinese Lantern under the deck that has now basically become rabbit food (definately not pictured).
As seen from a Hot Air Balloon April 2006 at some ungodly time of the morning. Black Mountain Tower in the Background, Lake Burley Griffin in the foreground.
About The Garden
Situated in the midst of the Bush Capital, The Little Aussie Cottage Garden is my little place of peace and tranquillity, at least when the white rabbits aren't rounding up the beagle, or chasing the chicken. Surviving, drought, bushfire, hailstones the size of marbles, electrical storms, heatwaves and snowstorms and marauding rabbits, occasionally a few of these all in the same day, it still seems to look okay in the odd photo. See for yourself.
